					<description>1.  Most of the world does not and has never celebrated xmas.  I think perhaps you mean most of christian world.

2.  December 25 was a celebration of the solstice long before it was usurped by christianity.

3.  Jesus's birth according to biblical descriptions was likely around September.

4.  Santa Claus, trees, presents, etc are indeed non-religious icons pertaining to xmas.  Without the secularization of xmas, it would likely soon be relegated to yet another oft forgotten religious celebration, acknowledged only by a small section of society.</description>
