Many of us have at least one credit card, if not more from various banks or credit card issuing companies. Many of these companies offer promotions that are very tempting and attract consumers to sign up for credit cards even if they don’t actually need one.
Many offer rewards, 0% credit cards or 0% balance transfers , airline miles, cash back e.t.c in order to attract customers to get credit cards even if they don’t actually need one.
, cash back, free travel miles or hotel points in order to attract consumers to get a credit card without thinking about the impact it has on their credit score and debt. Everyone needs just ONE credit card..that’s all! Like any business that’s out there to make a profit, credit card companies are doing the same. I believe either the companies or the state department of financial institutions need to educate consumers about credit cards, debt and other basic finance information. Many consumers do not think about the future impacts of getting credit cards unnecessarily. Consumers need to be educated on these issues, credit cards, debt, budgeting and other basic financial information in order for them to be able to make better decisions. Without that education, consumers will continue to take credit cards and accrue debt.
