Cats opening doors

Sponsored Post:
I found some neat videos on a blog that is part of the Architecturalclassics.com website which shows some cats opening doors. The blog talks about and has videos of cats opening doors. The different videos show different cats opening doors in different houses. The author states that people think that cats are not as easy to train as dogs to do tricks and to perform things you ask them to do but in reality cat’s are purposely ignoring the owner’s commands or training to do things because they are only interested in doing this that benefit themselves. The author also talks about how to teach cats not to scratch anything in your house and how to train your cats not to open doors. The author states that if your cat learned to open doors, then you can change your door knobs or lever handles to ones that easier for pets to open or following the training steps listed on the blog.

This is an interesting article and the videos on this site prove that cats can also perform intelligent tasks like dogs. When seeing a video of cats opening doors, people find it cute but the owner might not since cats can scratch your furniture or your doors and other expensive items in your house while trying to do so.

So, if you have a cat that can open doors and you are worried that it will scratch your doors and door handles, then checkout the blog to see some steps that you can try to teach them to stop.

Getting a new pet?

Thursday, September 21st, 2006

Are any of you thinking about getting a pet? Before you go to your local pet store or a breeder, please read the info below: Lots of pets are abandoned, abused or just thrown out by their owners and some owners lose interest in their pets or just can’t keept it anymore and thus many of these pets end up at the local animal control center, the humane society, or another animal rescue organization. Instead of going to your local pet store or breeder and paying lots of money for a new pet, please check out the pets that are available for adoption for a small fee at your local humane center, http://www.petfinder.com/, or on craigs list - pet section (http://craigslist.org/ and click ‘pets’). Craigs list sometimes has listings where owners are giving their pet(s) away for free to a good home. So, if you are looking for a new pet, please consider saving an animal’s life by visiting these websites or your local rescue organization where the pets are waiting to be adopted and given proper care and affection.

Also, Help control the pet population. Spay or neuter your pets!
